The title says it all. Although September unit shipments for Chi Mei Optoelectronics (CMO) of large-area (10″ and larger) TFT LCD panels were up 12.4% M/M and 30.9% Y/Y to 6.708 million, the Q3′08 results were weak. Q3′08 shipments results were down 6.1% Q/Q but up 24% Y/Y to 17.5 million.

Chi Mei Optoelectronics (CMO) reported its unaudited Q2′08 earnings results on July 31, 2008. The results are more positive than expected. Here are the details:

On July 28, 2008, LG Display announced that it will be reducing its LCD production by 10% through August. This follows news from AU Optronics (AUO) and Chi Mei Optoelectronics (CMO) that they will be reducing LCD output by 10% as well.
