Samsung’s SyncMaster 2494HS is a 23.6″ LCD monitor that sports a 16:9 aspect ratio. The 2494HS has a 1920 x 1080 pixel format and the folks over at Samsung had their proper thinking hats on: HDMI. Yes, the 2494HS has a HDMI port and that’s a good thing if you want to watch 1080p video content. I assume that’s the reason for 16:9 and a LCD TV-like 1920 x 1080 pixel format. Of course, for those who are less interested in viewing 1080p HD content, you can also connect this fairly handsome unit to your PC using DVI or VGA connections to do work (or play). The viewing angles are a bit limited to 170/160 and that means this monitor has a TN LCD: nothing wrong with that, just make sure you’re not in need of wide viewing angles. The 2494HS is a LCD monitor that makes sense with a combined 1920 x 1080 pixel format and HDMI connection.
