Samsung’s LN40A650 is a popular 40″ LCD TV that sports the company’s Touch of Color design scheme and looks quite nice. Looks are not just skin deep with the LN40A650 as it features many high-end technologies including Samsung’s Auto Motion Plus 120Hz that doubles the frequency to minimize motion blur. Not only that it has motion interpolation that creates a brand new frame in between the one before and after it to further reduce jaggies. The response time is a very respectable 4ms and gives you a great viewing angle of 178/178. Dynamic contrast ratio is 50,000:1 and will come into play when watching ‘dynamic’ video content. Video processing is done by Samsung’s proprietary DNIe Pro engine and in terms of input you get three HDMI ports, which is standard. There is also an Anynet+ (HDMI-CEC) connection that allows for controlling a variety of other equipment such as a receiver, Blu-ray player, HD camcorder, and even a digital camera with just one remote control.
