BenQ M2400HD: 24

BenQ’s M2400HD is a 24″ LCD monitor but with a 16:9 aspect ratio. Instead of the usual 1920 x 1200 pixel format, the M2400HD has a 1920 x 1080: just like a 16:9 LCD TV. The downside to this is that you get 120 less vertical pixels. That might not be too bad if you view a lot of HDTV content. But if you’re getting 24″ LCD monitors for its pixel real estate, well, you’ve been short changed, just a bit. But what’s 120 vertical pixels?

The 2MP webcam isn’t integrated into the bezel but comes out and over the top. It’s a pretty interesting design. The buttons are neatly part of the right side of the 24″ LCD monitor while the ports are on the left. There is a smaller 22″ M2200HD. I don’t know what the pixel format of that one is but my guess is that it would be 1600 x 900.
