TED: Multi-touch Interface
This is old news, but once in a while I enjoy going back to videos such as this one. TED is held in Monterey, California and about 1000 people get to listen to some remarkable ideas. One idea is multi-touch. Apple has popularized an implementation of multi-touch with the iPhone and now on its MacBook Pro trackpads. Jeff Han’s implementation is much more sophisticated as it allows for more than two fingers to manipulate objects on the screen. In a lava lamp demonstration, Jeff “injected heat” into the lava by pressing multiple fingers on the base of it. There were a few more demonstrations that were really cool. I’m sure you’ve seen the video, but if you haven’t, take a look, it’s pretty cool.
